Simple Elegance 10.15/2 cts Lapis in 18k White Gold and Diamonds Earrings

Do you remember that stellar Lapis Lazuli in 18k white gold pendant we unveiled late 2023? Well these are going for the same patron. She was so stunned by the pendant that she instantly wanted to complement it with a matching pair of earrings and, here is how the story goes...
Early 2023, a couple of Parisian friends contacted me with the idea of getting a rather large blue gem. They desired a twenty plus millimetre long, high domed, deep blue Lapis Lazuli gem that would eventually need to be mounted into a classical and elegant 18k white gold and diamonds pendant.
As I've mentioned in previous posts here, we seldom work we ornemental gems but, the challenge amused me and, some of my best friends and providers happen to be Afghan nationals and have access to the stunning material.
I quickly decided to pay a visit to my comparse Tariq and ask him whether he would have, or know someone who would be able to provide some, high end lapis lazuli cabochons. As we discussed the topic, I quickly realised that my errand was not likely to be easily satisfied, specially if I wanted to keep things at AsiaLounges standards of quality.
Tariq proposed to sell some rough Lapis from a parcel he had acquired a few weeks earlier and, as luck would have it, Steve, a lapidary connaissance of ours was happy to help us do the cut and polish on short notice as well.
Everything was going according to plan so far and, with a bit of luck, the gem would look as good as desired once in its final form. Few days later, Steve reached out to us, the stone was ready, it had not broken in the process, the polish was spectacular, the colour of this twenty plus carats cabochon even more so and, many were our trade friends who asked where we got such a nice sapphire cabochon... Amused and embolden by the compliments on the stone, we proposed it to our client who immediately took it.
The design process was but a step away now. Once the deposit was paid, we could get working on the pendant which was equally successful a product upon delivery. Fast forward a year or so and more cutting and design discussions later, these earrings were born.
After much delay from our part, long year what can we say, we finally have delivered these delicious items to our European counterparts and are ecstatic at the idea of seeing how our friends' friends will react this time around to these pieces!
